Sally Skellington has officially become the new Pumpkin Queen after her union with her true love, Jack. But while Sally loves Jack with all her fabric being, she cannot say the same for her new role as queen of Halloween Town. Finding herself in the spotlight and having to face all sorts of queenly duties, she can't help but wonder if she hasn't traded one captivity for another, however golden it may be.

But when, with Zero, she accidentally discovers a long-hidden door leading to an ancient realm called the Dream Realm, she unknowingly triggers a series of sinister events that will jeopardize her future as Pumpkin Queen and the future of Halloween Town.

Will Sally manage to discover what it means to be true to herself and will she be able to save the town she has come to call home? Or will her future turn into her worst nightmare?
